Abstract

Precipitation has been widely considered as a starting point towards the apprehension of climate variability courses. This work investigates temporal variability of precipitation in the Vojvodina Region (Northern Serbia) for the period 1946-2006. The methodology adapts various statistical approaches in order to detect possible precipitation changes on annual, monthly and seasonal basis (Mann-Kendall test, Sen’s estimator of slope and a test for step change) for the 92 Vojvodina Region meteorological stations. Computational mathematical and statistical language Mathematica (Wolfram, Mathematica) was implemented to perform the analysis. Also, the ArcMap software package was employed for the spatial representation and visualization of the analyzed precipitation data.
